Recreation Department
The recreation
program established in 1974 after the Tom
Daughtery Building (Student Union and Auditorium) had built and
partly rebuilt before they were old gymnasium and the old
apartment. Before the recreation program, it was called Tee Pee
Club. The recreation program is now 33 years and they are doing
well.
The
program is for all ages from Toddlers to High School Students on
the OSD campus. The purpose of the program is to provide an
opportunity to individuals for self-expression and for the
development of inner resources and to help them gain self
esteems and social life skills.
The recreation
program is also providing the off campus such
as trip to School’s sports activities include football and
basketball, to the Parks, Semi-Professional Sports
(Redhawks/Blazers), Circus, and Movies. There is only 1 place
for all activities in the recreation program called Student
Union. The Student Union does have the 2 gymnasiums, swimming
pool, weighting room, dance room, game room and
mini-theatre
with about 44 seats and 8 by 12 screen.
 
Recreation
Department just got the brand new inline skating for the youth
to high school group.
