Welcome to GPSD Oklahoma!!!!
On behalf of Oklahoma School for the Deaf, we would like to welcome you to the 24th
Annual GPSD Basketball tournament. We are very excited to host the prestigious
event. We are located nearby the Arbuckles Mountains. We hope you will take the
time to explore our beautiful scenery. We have a new Chickasaw Cultural Center and
Chickasaw National park among others.
During this time together, we encourage the students-athletes to enjoy themselves and
play competitive basketball/cheerleading. Above all else, we want to act respectfully
toward each other and exhibit good qualities of sportsmanship.
OSD welcomes you with open arms for this event and hope that friendship will be
created that will last a lifetime. We are looking forward to your participation in this GPSD
If there is anything that our staff can do to make your stay pleasant, don't hesitate to

Dear Students, Staff, Parents, Alumni and Community Members,
Welcome to the 2013 Great Plains School for the Deaf Basketball Tournament. We are so glad you are
here to witness our Homecoming game. The GPSD tournament is always an event greeted with great
anticipation yearly. It is always so heartwarming to see so many old and new faces on our campus
to compete in the spirit of competition. So many lessons learned in sports, such as commitment and
teamwork, spill over into everyday life.
As you watch the young men and women as they compete in this weekend’s events, it is important that
you recognize that each of the schools here deserve recognition for their commitment for ensuring
the continuation of this tournament. It is vital that our young athletes continue to experience the
excitement this tournament generates annually.
If I, or any one on our campus, can be of service to you, please do not hesitate to contact me.
KaAnn Varner, Superintendent
Oklahoma School for the Deaf
