Supply
Department
Ever wonder
where all of the materials and supplies used every day by the
kids and teachers at OSD come from? Well, the orders originate
from the needs of the teachers and staff and are processed and
filled by the members of the supply department.
Rusty
Harmon is one of the newest members of the staff at OSD. He was
hired in December of 2006 as the Material Management Officer.
Rusty believes that supplying teachers and staff with the
materials they need to provide a quality educational experience
for the children at OSD is job one. He spends the majority of
his day ordering warehouse materials for various departments and
classroom supplies for teachers. Rusty also processes receiving
reports for payment by the OSD business office.
Serving
the school as Material Management Specialist is Deloris Garner.
Deloris has worked at OSD since August of 1998. Deloris is the
real work horse in the Supply Department. She receives orders,
stocks incoming freight, and delivers orders to various
departments around the school. Everyone is happy to get a visit
from Deloris because they know the things they ordered have
arrived. It’s like Christmas every day and Deloris is Santa
Claus!
One of the most exciting
experiences in the Supply Department occurred when an order
arrived which contained a porcupine puppet. The puppet had
accidentally been secured to the top of the box with tape
causing it to “jump” out of the box when it was opened. It was
a close race to the door between Rusty and Deloris!
