Outreach and Support

Outreach Services

The Oklahoma School for the Deaf Outreach program plays a vital role in promoting awareness about OSD and the wide range of services we provide. We aim to ensure that all deaf and hard-of-hearing students, public schools, their families, and the broader community across Oklahoma have access to the resources and support they need to thrive academically, socially, and personally.

The OSD Outreach team consists of experienced professionals from various departments within OSD who work collaboratively to deliver comprehensive services throughout the state. As a recognized statewide resource on deafness, OSD actively partners with families, school districts, educational agencies, and community organizations. Together, we address the unique language, communication, and educational needs of children and students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Our outreach efforts include providing training, consultation, and direct support to public schools to improve inclusive education practices and communication access. We also offer family support programs that empower parents and caregivers with the knowledge and tools necessary to advocate effectively for their children’s education and well-being.

Beyond our work with students and families, OSD’s community programs extend services and advocacy to adults who are deaf or hard of hearing. These initiatives foster greater inclusion, access to resources, and opportunities for lifelong learning and engagement within the community.

Through these collaborative and comprehensive outreach efforts, OSD remains committed to enhancing the quality of life and educational outcomes for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals across Oklahoma and ensuring they have the support needed to succeed at every stage of life.
